Before I started working with James I though about food all the time - about what I was going to eat next, when I was going to eat, worrying and feeling guilty etc. I would agonise over choices forever, and either end up eating something unsatisfying (causing me to "treat myself" later on), or I'd say "f*ck it" then feel bad about it after. I really wanted get the part of my brain back that was obsessing over food to use for more important things.
I was also spending a lot of time in the gym and keeping active, and not seeing results in performance OR appearance. I was getting frustrated and discouraged, but I knew stopping altogether wasn't the answer, so it had to be my nutrition.
Since working with James I now no longer stress about food.
I know how much my body needs to get through the day, and I've gotten better at discerning when I actually need food, as opposed to when I'm really trying to fulfill an emotion need. I've also learned so much about food and nutrition as a science, so I understand the "why" behind what a healthy diet can look like. And I've become a much better cook!

“Before i started working with James i was really overweight, probably more overweight than i really knew i was until i saw photos of myself.
I'd tried other diets and trying to watch what i ate but i just didn't have the knowledge or awareness of what i was eating that contributed to my daily macro intake.

The workouts were fun but I thoroughly enjoyed the flexible dieting, within my macros, James worked with me to construct a diet that worked for my lifestyle. He didn’t have me restrict calories to absurd levels and we only added a little cardio towards the end. Good food choices as recommended by James, helped with satiety and I learnt to be creative with making volume for calories consumed type food choices, which meant I was still eating full meals.“

“I reached out to James as in the past I had found it difficult to achieve consistency in my body composition. I’d got to reasonably low body fat levels but couldn't sustain it, with fluctuations in weight leading to binges and frustration.
I’d realised that a lack of consistency within my life in general, and in particular nutrition was an issue and by focusing specifically on nutrition James has helped me feel empowered and capable to keep improving. I feel James really cuts through a lot of messages out there by keeping things simple in terms of nutrition.

“ I came to James frustrated at the lack of results I was getting despite what felt like an enormous amount of effort I was investing! I was hardly eating, frequently getting sick, I felt gross, and my confidence was progressively getting worse.
If I’m honest, I was dubious of James’ initial recommendations. We increased calories so that I was eating more food, and we decreased the amount of cardio I was doing and started a more structured resistance training program. Within weeks of increasing calories, and working on diet quality I felt soooo much better. Not only were my energy levels up but my weight stayed much the same while I visibly reduced body fat. My strength sky rocketed and alongside it my confidence began to climb too.
I also learnt how to include meals out, and balance eating for my goals and having a social life.

“ I reached out to James after getting fed up not seeing the results I wanted. I’d been on and off intermittent fasting, had tried to just train more, at one point doing two F45 sessions a day!
While working with James I started to get an understanding of where I’d been going wrong and just how simple it can be. Not to say that it was easy, but James simplified the whole process and made it easy for me to hit my calorie and macronutrient targets, while also still enjoying a social life.

Like most people I had made a start towards my fitness goals but wasn’t sure how much to be eating to ensure I was getting the weight loss benefits of my workout. I’d been training at the gym and had previously spoken to another nutritionist but still wasn’t happy with the progress I was seeing.
Since starting with James I’ve lost approximately 3-4kgs and kept that weight off since May. I’ve made some gains in the gym such as running longer, lifting heavier and at times being in the first group of people to finish a HIIT task. I’ve lost centimetres from all of my measurement areas and I generally feel more confident and happy with with my body!

“Genuinely life changing for me!
I have struggled with my weight fluctuations and confidence with it for the last 10 or so years. I've tried a range of different things over this time and found that results may have come short term but were unsustainable, too restrictive or even just unsuitable ways of eating for me.
After working with James I have now got a clear understanding of how my body reacts to what I eat and how to properly structure my diet to suit what I am doing, be that looking to trim down more, maintain, or even load up a bit during footy season for more energy.
